Composite Deck Installation in Wauwatosa for a Landscape Renovation
Compact Composite Deck Installation in Wauwatosa for a Backyard Refresh
LandCrafters Landscaping reached out to Chisel and Vine to collaborate on a full backyard transformation in Wauwatosa. As part of the landscaping project, they needed a small, functional deck built off the back door of the home. The original deck was large and dated, taking up most of the yard. The homeowners wanted something smaller and more intentional, creating a better connection between the home and the outdoor space.
We were happy to team up, as we’ve worked with LandCrafters on many deck and landscape projects across Southeast Wisconsin.
Removing the Old, Building for the New
LandCrafters took care of removing the old wood deck, clearing the space and prepping the site for us to begin. We laid out the plan for the helical pier footings, which were installed using Goliath Tech equipment. Helical piers provide decks with a strong foundation, eliminating the drying time and mess associated with traditional concrete.
Once the footings were in place, we quickly framed the structure using pressure-treated lumber and then installed the decking boards using Azek TimberTech decking. This low-maintenance material is a smart choice for small decks, offering long-term durability, a clean appearance, and eliminating the need for staining or sealing.
The entire deck installation was completed in just one day. Our team stayed on schedule, allowing the landscaping team to continue with the rest of the renovation without delay.
Why This Composite Deck Installation Was the Right Fit
In this case, the deck wasn’t about being large; it was about making the right connection between the house and the new backyard. The smaller layout allows the back door to remain functional while giving the new landscaping room to shine. It’s a great example of how collaboration between trades can make a project smoother for both the contractors and the homeowner.
The homeowners loved the final result, and LandCrafters has already teamed up with us on additional projects since.
